The Great Barrier Reef is in crisis - and this Federal election will decide whether it survives and thrives. Will you act now and show your support?
Fight for the Reef is a partnership between the Australian Marine Conservation Society and WWF-Australia.
We’re working with people who love the Reef along the Queensland coast, across Australia and all over the world - who all want to see it protected.
and together we have achieved great things
Built a global community of over 200,000 people fighting for the Reef (and counting!).
Secured a ban on most dumping of dredge spoil within the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area.
Stopped several mega port expansions and secured protection for untouched parts of the Reef coast.
Regulate a cap on farm pollution flowing into Reef waters, with staged reductions to achieve the clean water the Reef needs to restore its health.
A multi-billion dollar fund for better farm management and catchment repair to stop pollution damaging the Reef.
Build a stronger, better resourced, independent Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority.
Strengthen laws to prevent damaging industrial developments on the Reef coast and rule out subsidies for port development and related infrastructure.
Stop illegal fishing and prevent dugongs and turtles drowning in fishing nets.
Commit to 100% renewable electricity by 2035 and end fossil fuel subsidies to rapidly reduce global warming.
